Carol Jones Passes Away


    Carol C. Jones, 83, a resident of Davidsonville, MD for more than forty years and previously of Upper Marlboro and New Carrollton, died on Monday, April 24 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Severna Park, MD.      Born on June 16, 1939 in Washington, DC to the late Edmund and Mary Cain Confrey, Carol was a graduate of Bladensburg High School and worked for the US Department of Justice in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, knitting, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family and pets.
    Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jerry A. Jones and her great-grandson, Alan M. Tregoning. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey A. Jones and his wife, Karen of Lake Mary, FL, Mark Gregory Jones and his wife, Lynda of Chestertown, MD, Kathy Jones Repage and her husband, Raymond of Leland, NC and Linda K. Jones and her husband, Scott Finnegan of Franklin, MA; her grandchildren, Brett A., Bradley A. and Ashley Jones, Hannah Finnegan and Kathleen Carol Tregoning and her husband, Matthew, and her great-grandchild, Rylee P. Stocker.
    Friends are invited to celebrate Carol's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Thursday, April 27 from 5 to 7 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD on Friday, April 28 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carol's name to the Hospice of the Chesapeake (hospicechesapeake.org) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
