Sew Time Angels Make Baby Blankets

The Sew Time Angels of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, in conjunction with Our Lady of Perpetual Sorrow in Edgewater, will hold their sixth annual Lenten Sewing Challenge from Feb. 14 through March 29.
The 40-day challenge is to complete, as a group, baby hats/blankets and walker totes. Some of the angels have already started working on these items. They hope to beat last year’s total of 261 baby hats and 72 blankets, and the 2016 challenge’s 35 walker totes completed.
The baby hats can be crocheted or knitted and the baby blankets can be sewn, crocheted or knitted any size, but no bigger than 36-inch-by-36-inch. These items will be given to Anne Arundel Medical Center and Birthright.
The walker totes are given to the community and shipped to friends and love ones. The angels have lots of fabric, so help them use up their stock before you attack your “stash.” They will have extra patterns available at the next meeting Feb. 20 at Holy Family for your home sewing convenience, or they can email them to you.
If you want to assist with the challenge (you don’t need to be a member of the Sew Time Angels) and need patterns/materials, contact Barbara Harmel at barbara.harmel@gmail.com or Pam Hines at hinesjp@verizon.net.
