Alan F. Herbert , "Herbie", of Davidsonville, MD passed away on Saturday, April 25 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 21, 1934 in Washington, DC to the late Howard and Louise Herbert, Alan was a graduate of Anacostia High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a police officer for 23 years with the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, DC.
Alan or "Herbie" is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jacqueline Herbert; his children, Tracy Herbert Joyce and her husband, John of Crofton, MD, Michael Herbert and his wife, Teresa of Davidsonville, MD and Jodie Leigh Herbert of Arlington, VA; and five grandchildren, Kara, Nicolette, Victoria, Alanna and Michael, Jr.
Friends are invited to celebrate Herbie's life from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 1 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
