A woman was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Davidsonville Monday afternoon shortly after 2 PM. near westbound Central Ave. and Patuxent Crossover. Police reported one of the two vehicles involved went over a guardrail and into a ditch.
One woman, estimated to be in her mid-20s, was taken by state police helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, fire department spokesman Division Chief Keith Swindle said. Her injuries were serious but not life-threatening, Swindle said.

Police shut down Central Avenue at 2:20 p.m., reopening the road shortly before 4 p.m., Mulcahy said.
