A man escaped a Gambrills home unharmed after it caught fire Saturday evening, county fire department officials said
Firefighters called to a home in the 2500 block of Davidsonville Road at about 7:45 p.m. found heavy fire showing from the back of second floor, said Capt. Michael Pfaltzgraff, a county fire department spokesman.
Due to the volume of the blaze, a second alarm was called, bringing in a total of 70 firefighters, including some from Annapolis and Prince George's County fire departments. It took crews about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control. One man was home at the time, but was not injured.
The cause of the fire and damage estimates were not available Saturday.
