Highway in Gambrills and Davidsonville, SHA crews completed culvert replacement
under the roadway between the Ridges Gateway and Crownsville Road/South Haven
Road to address deteriorating structural conditions. The segment running
through these communities was built atop an old stream bed, making it prone to
flooding.
The SHA continues work to remove sediment from
Bell Branch, connecting channels and culverts to reduce frequency and duration
of flooding events along this route. Construction is expected to be complete
this summer. Because of the lower traffic volumes during the quarantine, crews
did not have to worry about major impacts to the public by implementing
detours.
